Alabama's new film industry incentives are getting screen-tested with the production of a movie in and around Birmingham.
Mark Stricklin, director of the Birmingham-Jefferson Film Office, said he worked with state officials to help line up the incentives for the independent movie "Lifted."
"We decided to make this a test case and go with it," he said. "We're excited to be the first area in the state to do this."
