"Bollywood" in Birmingham!

Bollywood is the informal term popularly used for the Hindi-language film industry based in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The term is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; it is only a part of the total Indian film industry, which includes several regional film industries sorted by language. Bollywood is the largest film producer in India and one of the largest centers of film production in the world.
Bollywood is formally referred to as Hindi cinema, but there has been a growing presence of Indian English in dialogue and songs as well. It is common to see films that feature dialogue with English words phrases, or even whole sentences.

With the growing interest and popularity of Bollywood, the ASC is proud to host "The Bollywood Experience" Saturday, November 13 for two shows at 10 AM and 11:30 AM. From classical indian dance inspired by ancient texts to modern dance as seen in the Bollywood films of today, dancer Parul Kapoor will take you on a magical journey through time. You won't want to miss this performance that's enhanced by traditional indian costumes and great music! Part of the World on Stage Festival. http://alysstephens.uab.edu/events/?id=96
